BMVI - Border Management and Visa Instrument

      Project description: The aim of the project is to eliminate waiting times at the BCP Vysne Nemecke by increasing its throughput and at the same time ensuring the proper functioning of the Entry/Exit system (EES). The subject of the project is implementing and financing of the major part of the investment action "BCP Vysne Nemecke, passenger transport - workplace expansion". The modification of the passenger transport workplace will expand the current number of lanes in the area of the SK-UA state border, expand the bus transport workplace by creating another terminal for border control of bus passengers, as well as create a new pedestrian corridor in both directions with complete infrastructure. In connection with the implementation of the EES system, new equipment boxes will be set up that meet the requirements for biometric data collecting.

EUAF - EU Anti-fraud Programme

      Project description: The main goal of the project is to increase the mobility and effectiveness of mobile units in detecting the illegal transport of goods and their smuggling, and at the same time, to increase the efficiency of the performance of checks on vehicles and trains in order to prevent the illegal goods import. The Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic plans to purchase within this project specially equipped vehicles - mobile offices (3 pcs) for mobile units of customs offices, train undercarriage inspection systems, which will be placed at the rail border crossing points with Ukraine – BCP Matovce and BCP Cierna and Tisou, and handheld density meters intended for stations of customs offices on the whole territory of Slovakia. Part of the purchase contract for all purchased equipment will also include the initial training of the customs officers on the operation of the equipment.

      Project description: This project is focused on organizing international workshop for customs officers focused on the fight against excise tax frauds - mineral oils, tobacco (cigarettes) and traceability of tobacco products using the Track & Trace system. Purpose of this activity is for customs officers to be able to respond to new trends in fraud, with a focus on the fight against tax fraud and evasion of excise duty on mineral oil and the fight against cigarette smuggling. Application of knowledge gained during this activity is expected to contribute to increase the effectiveness of mobile customs supervision and tax supervision.

      Within this project 5-day workshop was organized in October 2024 named “International workshop for customs officers focused on the fight against excise tax frauds - mineral oils, tobacco (cigarettes) and traceability of tobacco products using the Track & Trace system” for participants from Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Latvia.

      Project description: International project involving partners from Hungary, Ukraine and Slovakia.

      The aim of the project is to improve, optimise and modernise traffic flows in terms of infrastructure capacity, interoperability and efficiency of BCP services at: Čop/Záhony (UA/HU), Čop/Čierna nad Tisou (UA/SK), Batovo/Eperjeske (UA/HU). The main coordinator of the project is the Ministry of Construction and Transport of Hungary, which is also a direct beneficiary of the CEF grant. Within the framework of the project, the Financial Directorate will procure the necessary construction works, purchase and install a railway inspection system at the BCP Čierna nad Tisou.

      Project description: In this project, it is planned to purchase new, modern, efficient and reliable inspection equipment for the Customs Laboratory of the Slovak Financial Administration.

      By the means of the project, the Financial Directorate of the Slovak plans to renew laboratory equipment and ensure continuity of processes in expert laboratory activities. The objective of the renewal and extension of the instrumentation is to increase the capacity of the analytical measurements and expert examinations carried out, while increasing the evidence, veracity and accuracy of the analytical outputs.

  • Special Technology Equipment Acquisition and Renewal for Customs Control Improvement and Organised Crime Prevention

      Project description: Within this project new, modern, effective and reliable stationary and mobile customs control equipment is planned to be purchased for stations and branch offices of the customs offices and related BCPs across the entire territory of the Slovak Republic. The equipment will be used to perform faster, more precise and more effective customs controls. The aim of the project is to maintain and ensure an adequate level of control and detection architecture by replacing some of the existing X-ray scanners at the SK /UA border crossing points, airports and postal hubs and to equip mobile units with new X-ray mobile backscatter vans and to introduce new type of portable ion detectors for trace detection of explosives and narcotics in border and airport BCPs.

      The aim is to cover and secure the entire territory of Slovakia with adequate customs control equipment and reach more harmonized level of controls.

      Project description: Within this project new, modern, effective and reliable mobile customs control equipment is planned to be purchased for mobile units which will perform customs controls using special technologies within the whole territory of Slovak Republic.

      The Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic plans to purchase within this project customs control equipment for purposes of non-intrusive inspection, handheld search and field analysis and spectroscopy for mobile units of customs offices. Included in the purchase contract will be also introductory training for customs officer on how to operate the equipment.

      Project description: The aim of the project was to establish a network of customs "practitioners" whose practical experience, requirements and innovative ideas in the field of customs security will be "transformed" into specific solutions and technologies, thus helping European customs administrations to deal with current security challenges. In its individual phases, the project focused on various areas of customs work in the field of security - risk management and "Big data", detection technologies, equipment of customs laboratories, coordination of border management, etc., while individual project partners could gradually nominate 1-6 experts, depending on the available staff capacities.

      18 partners participated in the PEN-CP project, of which 14 were customs administrations.

      Project description: The project contributes to preventing and combating the production and trafficking of drugs and the illicit production and trafficking of pharmaceutical products. It will introduce standard tools, new methods and best practices in the detection of drug and pharmaceutical crime, which will increase the efficiency of the actions of the members of the Police Force and the Financial Administration in the fight against drug and pharmaceutical crime.

      The objective of the project will be achieved by increasing the professional capacities of members of the Police Force and the Financial Administration in the fight against drug and pharmaceutical crime; by introducing uniform procedures and methods for the detection of pharmaceutical crime and by creating and upgrading technical equipment for the detection, transportation and storage of evidence.
